I'm staying in TriBeCa right now and it's crazy how GROOMED women are here. So many of the women here look the same- same $600 hair colorist, same equinox gym toned, fat free body, same derm for fillers, same subtle mani and pedi, brows, spray tan, Botox, veneers, black Burberry or moncler puffy coats. Like paying all this money so you can not wear makeup and still look naturally perfect. Like none of them even have curly hair or frizz or shlumpy gym clothes. Too much pressure!!

OMG, this is exactly how I dance!
Just showed this to husband, he agreed.
This is uncanny!

oh Soothie!

We noticed that Jadie prefaces all nouns with a sort of an article. I.e. she no longer asks for just "tea," or just "monkey" -- it's more like "uh, monkey" or "uh, tea."

I have to admit I was slightly fazed by it (wow, she picked up articles this early in the language development?) And then I realized that every time she asks for something, we strain to understand her the first couple of times and then utter something in response like, "oh! Monkey!" Or "ah! Tea!"

How to get everything done.

All you have to do is remove your pants and underpants.
Since you can't sit down, you're going to end up getting everything done.

i just came up with this

Jadie's wordies

Jade says "hamP" and "jamP."
Which is funny bc Marc mispronounces "hamster" as "hamPster" (very cute :) )

Also, "music" is "mew-kit." Cute.

Tips for a happy life

1. Get tipsy.
2. Go into a tanning bed.
3. Pretend you're a panini.

14mo Jade is turning into a grown up person!

I am really enjoying her company! We went out to a restaurant, just me and her, and she was sitting in the adult chair :)
I am so proud of her! She says some words like "Gimme gimme gimme" in Russian, and "Bottle!" in English, and a bunch of other words in one or both languages.
When she sees a cat, she points, looks at me and says "Mow."

Soon i will be taking her out shopping (which i already do right now), and to more restaurants, and to the salons!

Jadie progress

Jade is turning 14 months today, and she's running and talking and meeting new friends at the playground.

Yesterday I took her to a children's playground, where a bunch of kids and their parents were playing ball. And she stood, pointed at the ball and said "BALL!"

Also, whenever the word "cat" is mentioned (in either language) she matter-of-factly says "Mow."

She confuses a cow and a horse (the paintings were inconsistent -- one was brown the other calico, then they were reversed), and starts neighing for a cow.
If someone says "feet", she'll stomp.

She also understands what's written without us having to say it, or seeing a picture.
I.e. if she sees the word "dog", she'll go "ruff! ruff!", or "arms up" -- she'll put her arms up, etc.

On Saturday she found a small blonde boy (must be around the age of 2), and started hugging him. When he left the playground, she stomped one foot, pointed and said something to the effect of "Hey, where are you going? I'm not done with you yet!" (this one she obviously gets from her mother).
